Balenciaga Bags

Babes go berserk over Balenciaga… but why?  IT MAKES A STATEMENT!  Those biker bags just can’t stay in stock and fashionistas worldwide can’t get enough of the avant-garde structural pieces in the collections.  A fashion rebel, founder Cristóbal Balenciaga closed his fashion house in 1968 and died in 1972. The house lay dormant until 1986.  Several designers who have worked for the famed fashion house have gone on to be “quite famous” themselves… Oscar De La Renta, Emanuel Ungaro and Hubert de Givenchy just to name a few.  For the 15 years that Ghesquière was the creative director, Balenciaga set the bar for creativity then the torch was passed to Alexander Wang then indie designer Demna Gvasalia.  A line that is always on our radars yet doesn’t have the buzz around it like Louis Vuitton because of its exclusivity.

The Balenciaga motorcycle bags have been the iconic symbol for the design house. Nicolas Ghesquière, who left Balenciaga, explained he “designed his first multicolor leather purses just so his models would have something to hold as they walked the runway in 2001.” Now iconic and a walking “billboard” for the brand… they release the most brilliant colors and textures… and even with lead designers for the house changing, the brand has stayed true to who they are and they have kept their signature pieces. The bags hold their value and are always a consignment winner.  Maybe we should start stacking up on purses rather than stocks?  Additionally, the motorcycle bag has been named one of the 10 bags that will never go out of style.

So, why do babes flock to the B?  One reason is because the celebrities do also!  The design was originally dismissed until free bags were given to Kate Moss and the rest is history!  Moss could never have enough colors and ladies like Rumor Willis, Salma Hayek, Sienna Miller and more never left home without it.  Balenciaga is ageless fashion; it transcends time and has no age limit.

When you have a dying need for something luxe but don’t want to turn to the same old go-to designers.  Get edgy and think outside the box.  Balenciaga offers an alternative that you will never get tired of.
