Spring 2020 trends focus on empowerment, emotion, individuality, realness, and inclusiveness. Below are some trends to follow for the approaching spring season.

NEW RENAISSANCE

“New Renaissance” as reported by WGSN, pays homage to Renaissance paintings and classical artwork. These renaissance inspired pieces can be incorporated into your spring wardrobe by juxtaposing against modern elements such as denim or a simple t-shirt. Important details include ruffles, high necklines, exaggerated sleeves, and embroidery. Keep an eye out for toile de jouy, this will be a statement print throughout the season. (Psst notice the toile print in this image incorporates the 2020 pantone color ‘Classic Blue’ too!)

1980’s LEISURE

This trend takes the typical bright/neon colors and bold prints of the 80’s in a different direction. It focuses on leisure styles such as joggers, polos, pull over sweaters, and light cardigans. An oversize graphic sweater paired with a relaxed fit jogger will be the ultimate 80’s cool girl outfit. Depending if you want to dress it up or down, pair the look with white chunky sneakers or a simple heel will finish off the look. A relaxed demeanor is key for this trend, along with retro aesthetics and a combination of cool and warm toned color palettes such as blue and orange.

VINTAGE FLORALS

Vintage floral is back in a big way for the 2020 spring season. Think 1970’s florals--pinks, yellows, and oranges as the main color palette. Since 2020 is all about experimentation and individuality, try mixing your vintage floral with an edgier aesthetic such as adding platform boots or layered chain necklaces. If that’s a little too outside your comfort zone, a classic heel and simple strand of pearls would look equally as good. The juxtaposition of the two styles will surely make a statement going into the springtime.

CLASH OF THE PRINTS

Stand out from the crowd because 2020 is all about embracing the unusual! Wearing mismatched patterns such as polka dots, checks, or even animal print can seem daunting at first, however they are actually super flattering and fun once paired together. For example, pairing a dark plaid blazer with a black and white polka dot blouse and a simple bottom would make such a statement. If you are stuck in a style rut, this may be a great option for you because the possibilities are endless with this trend.
